Biography

Panos Prokos was introduced in the athletic world at a young age through the sport of gymnastics. He trained for 6 years
as a gymnastics participant before transitioning to a full competitive
career in the sport of Olympic weightlifting which he still practices
as well as coaches today.
While pursuing his undergraduate degree,
Panos begun his coaching career as a personal trainer initially
working for national fitness chains and later transitioning to
smaller private fitness facilities where he was able to offer
a more individualized training program using his acquired experience
on effective training protocols. After completing two BS degrees,
Panos continued his graduate education in the field of psychology,
pursuing his Master's degree in Family Counseling at the University
of La Verne. His appreciation of fitness as a crucial part of
a person's well being led him to seek a specialization in sports
psychology. His goal was to integrate his personal training experience
with his psychology expertise in order to provide a new level
of fitness coaching which would appeal to both the casual individual
as well as the competitive athlete.

After obtaining his MS degree, Panos completed his
internship in the field of psychotherapy working with athletes
as well as casual individuals seeking lifestyle improvements.
He, then moved on to Iron Works Gym in Claremont as an independent
Fitness Consultant and Strength Coach where he has been helping
people transform their bodies and achieve a newfound level of
well being. Recently Panos expanded his training services to the
Anytime Fitness facility in Rancho Cucamonga.

In addition to the above credentials, Panos has
completed numerous continuing education courses in the areas of
strength training, post-rehabilitation, core stabilization, and
sport specific training from the National Academy of Sports Medicine,
and National Strength and Conditioning Association.
In addition to Fitness Consulting, Panos Prokos
specializes working in the mental/psychological aspect of sports.
His clientele ranges from individuals seeking lifestyle improvements
to athletes seeking to improve mental aspects of training and
gain the "mental edge" advantage that allows them to
excel in their sport of choice.
